Magnetic field sensors (Hall sensors) are devices that determine the mobility and concentration of electric charge carriers in conductors or semiconductors and their type (holes or electrons). This makes them an excellent device for investigating the properties of semiconductor components.

With the help of Hall sensors, brushless (valve) electric motors (servomotors), as well as ion jet engines, work. They act as a rotor position sensor, performing the function of a collector.
