FDC connectors

FDC connectors are a type of IDC electrical connectors that are designed for flat conductors (stubs). The FDC connector cannot be mounted on a cable with a vise, since you can bend all the contacts that are soldered into the board. Therefore, for the installation of such connectors, special "crutches" are used.

Initially, the cable is inserted into the connector and aligned, after which the resulting structure is inserted into the holes of the "crutch". Further actions completely coincide with the actions for crimping the IDC connector - the structure is inserted into a vise, slightly clamped, shifted closer to the center, and the FDC connector is compressed to the stop.
