Insulation resistance meters

Insulation resistance meters are devices designed to determine the insulation resistance to direct current.

They include a magnetoelectric ratiometer, additional resistances and a voltage source - a DC generator.

Since there is a direct current source in the IMS, the insulation resistance can be determined at high voltage (2500 V), and for some electrical equipment, the insulation can be simultaneously tested using increased voltage (when the ISI is connected to a device with a low resistance, the voltage at the terminals also decreases).
