Microohmmeters are devices designed to measure very low electrically active resistances. Typically, resistance is measured in direct current, but in some models, alternating current can also be used.
It should be noted that during the measurement of very low resistances (uOhm, mOhm), an additional error occurs due to the influence of transient resistances at the conductor connection nodes. To avoid such errors, a four-wire connection is used - 2 pairs of wires are used: a current of a certain strength is applied to the first, and a measurement is made from the second.
