Electromagnetic relays are electromechanical devices (keys) designed to close or open mechanical electrical contacts when current is applied to the winding, which generates a magnetic field. This, in turn, causes the movement of the ferromagnetic armature, which is mechanically connected to the contacts, and the subsequent movement of the contacts themselves switches the external electrical circuit.
