The phase control relay is a protective device for three-phase networks. It monitors the correctness of the power supply and turns off the load in case of emergency deviations.
The principle of operation
The phase control relay is connected to three phases and continuously measures the network parameters - the presence and level of voltage, the correctness of alternation, and asymmetry. Under normal conditions, it switches the output contact to an operating state and sends a command to an actuating device (usually a contactor coil). If an accident is detected, the relay switches off the load. After restoring the standard parameters, it can be re-enabled according to the specified logic.
Types of phase control relays
Single-phase
They are bought for single-phase circuits, and in terms of functionality they are more often referred to as voltage monitoring relays: they control the voltage output beyond the set limits and turn off the load through the output contact / contactor in case of emergency deviations.
Three-phase
They are designed for three-phase networks and provide monitoring of the presence of phases, the correctness of alternation, skew, as well as over/under voltage.
With adjustable thresholds and delays
In configurable versions, you can set the settings for the upper/lower voltage and the response/delay time in order to adapt the protection to the network conditions and the nature of the load.
With additional features
Models with an extended set of protections can be ordered: neutral conductor monitoring (open N) when measuring voltages relative to the neutral conductor (L-N), the ability to automatically turn on/off, status and alarm indication.
