Flat top and oval LEDs are light emitting semiconductor components that convert the current passing through them into light emission. The first type of LEDs has the shape of a cylinder with a transparent body, and the second type has the shape of an oval cylinder with a multi-colored body.
The luminous flux emission range is affected by the chemical composition of the semiconductor components used. By changing their composition, it is possible to develop light emitting diodes with different wavelengths, ranging from ultraviolet radiation (GaN) to the mid-infrared range (PbS).
