Trimmer capacitors are ceramic capacitors that change their capacitance when the movable element (rotor) rotates relative to the stationary one. They are commonly used in oscillatory circuits to change the resonant frequency. The capacitance of building capacitors varies by units or tens of picofarads.
Usually trimmer capacitors are adjusted only during the adjustment of radio equipment.
