Triacs ( Symmetrical thyristors ) are semiconductor devices used for switching high currents in alternating current circuits. The triac can be considered as a kind of key that has two stable states: closed and open. A feature of the triac is that the main electrodes are included in the circuit in series with the load. Unlike a thyristor, which has a cathode and an anode, it is incorrect to call the main conclusions of a triac as such, since, due to the structure of the triac, they are both. To turn on the triac, it is necessary to apply a positive pulse signal to the control output. In the open state, the triac conducts current in both directions. To turn off the triac, you need to remove the voltage from the power outputs.
