Triacs ( Symmetrical thyristors ) are semiconductor devices used for switching high currents in alternating current circuits. The triac can be considered as a kind of key that has two stable states: closed and open. A feature of the triac is that the main electrodes are included in the circuit in series with the load. Unlike a thyristor, which has a cathode and an anode, it is incorrect to call the main conclusions of a triac as such, since, due to the structure of the triac, they are both.
