Gas arresters from Betterfuse
Pulse interference is a very serious obstacle to the operation of electronic devices, and can also cause them to fail, so protection against pulse interference of various nature is one of the key tasks in the creation of user and industrial equipment and devices. One of the most effective means, along with other ways to protect against interference, is the use of gas-filled arresters.
Gas arresters are passive protective components consisting of two or three electrodes. To increase the service life of the device, copper or its vanadium-containing alloys are usually used as the electrode material. The sealed housing is made of high-strength ceramic and filled with an inert gas under pressure.
Reliable voltage limitation, high discharge current capacity, low intrinsic capacity and high insulation resistance of Betterfuse gas arresters provide optimal protection against overvoltages caused by lightning, electrostatic or electromagnetic discharges.
