The use of a power factor corrector (KKM, Eng. power factor corrector, PFC) is mandatory in LED lighting for power supplies with a power above 60W. However, in order to minimize the costs of creating a power supply system and electricity consumption, it is advisable to use power supplies with KKM for almost any power, especially when it comes to distributed LED lighting systems over a large area. In this case, each part of the system is a low-power consumer, but together such an LED lighting system can be a very significant load in the power supply network. What tasks the power factor corrector solves was discussed earlier.

The LPF series power supplies are an intermediate class of power supplies for LED lighting between the entry-level sources of the APV, LPV series and the most versatile HLG, ELG series of similar power. The distinctive features of the LPF series power supplies are KKM, which refers them to higher-class power sources, and a plastic housing that reduces the cost of the unit itself without compromising its operational characteristics.

The power supplies of the LPF-40 series have a rated power of 40W, which allows them to be attributed to low- or medium-power power supplies. The LPF-40 power supplies are designed for use in the AC network in an extended voltage range from 90 to 305V. The DC output voltage is represented by a very wide range of typical values, which will satisfy almost any requirements for LED lighting: 12, 15, 20, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54B.

The power supplies of the LPF-40 series are distinguished by high reliability, low cost, the presence of a built-in power factor corrector (KCM), the degree of protection of the housing IP67 due to its complete sealing, protection class against electric shock II (does not require grounding), cooling due to natural ventilation. The LPF-40 power supplies have all the basic protections against failure – short circuit, overload, overvoltage and overheating.

The highest efficiency of the LPF-40 series power supply reaches a value of 90% at a load of about 80%, which is the optimal mode of operation of the power supply (for example, LPF-40-48):

LPF-40 power supplies can be used in any field of LED lighting, but their most effective use is as power sources for LED lighting panels, LED lighting, decorative lighting, lighting tunnels and passages, and for advertising objects.
