In various applications of power electronics, high-capacity electrolytic capacitors have received active use, and as a result, rather large overall dimensions and weight. At the same time, the installation of such components on a printed circuit board or chassis in the case of conventional wire leads is difficult or even impossible - the capacitor is difficult to fix on the base for subsequent installation and / or additional efforts are required to hold it during the soldering process. To solve this problem, in the design of large electrolytic capacitors, special-shaped leads can be used - latches that provide tight contact between the capacitor and the contact pad in the mounting holes, and which are tightly held due to the elasticity of the contact leads themselves.
All series of SNAP-IN type electrolytic capacitors by TDK-EPCOS are classified into the following categories:
- Rated voltage range - there are low voltage (up to 100V DC) and high voltage series (up to 500V DC).
- Maximum operating temperature - for SNAP-IN capacitors, two temperature ranges are distinguished: up to 85°C and up to 105°C.
