XMG1915 switches from Zyxel Networks – increased 2.5 Gbps performance for small and medium enterprises

Zyxel Networks has introduced the XMG1915 family of intelligent managed switches. The devices are designed to provide the networks of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with sufficient bandwidth to support modern applications and services. The new cloud-based switches feature powerful PoE++ and 10G options, providing uninterrupted high-speed connectivity and convenient management in a compact package.

With the growing number of hybrid and home-based workplaces, high-definition video content, and the use of cloud services, SMEs and the self-employed require much higher network bandwidth. In addition, to support the latest wireless technologies, IP surveillance cameras, and connected devices at the edge of the network, an increased budget for power over Ethernet (PoE) is required.

The XMG1915 series is designed to meet these changing requirements. Available in 8- and 16-port models, they provide 2.5 Multi-Gigabit Ethernet on all ports. There are also 10G uplinks for connecting to the network core and PoE++ options that provide up to 60 watts for the connected device. And the Zyxel Nebula centralized network management system makes switches easy to deploy and manage.

With Nebula, switches can be preconfigured and installed automatically. The XMG1915 series can also be monitored and controlled remotely and easily using the Nebula app.

Powerful performance in a small package

The XMG1915 series switches are equipped with two 10-Gigabit uplinks and transmit user traffic at 2.5 Gbps. This ensures efficient and reliable connection of a wide range of peripherals: WiFi 6/6E/7 access points, IP cameras, NAS devices, and multi-gigabit networks.

Powered by 60W PoE++ on eight ports, it allows you to connect powerful devices such as WiFi 6/6E access points and simplifies their installation. The total 130W/180W PoE budget (XMG1915-10EP/XMG1915-18EP models) provides sufficient power at a competitive price, eliminating the need to invest in an excessive PoE budget that is often wasted. Users can also use existing Cat 5 cables, eliminating the need for expensive cable re-routing.

The XMG1915 features a more compact design - it is at least half the size of most 2.5G switches on the market, making it ideal for use on desktops or in a confined workspace.

Silent and energy-saving fanless design

Designed for optimal performance, the XMG1915 series features a fanless design and reliable hardware heat sink, ensuring silent operation and energy savings. The XMG1915-10E/10EP models are completely fanless, while the XMG1915-18EP are equipped with a low-noise fan.

Flexible management – Nebula or offline

The XMG1915 series supports free, centralized Nebula management, which provides both an intuitive web portal and a mobile application to simplify the installation and management of your network without the additional cost of a software or hardware controller.

Remote management capabilities allow users to monitor switches and reboot connected devices from anywhere without requiring a physical presence. In addition, there is a Loop Prevention feature that ensures the smooth operation of the switch by automatically detecting and troubleshooting configuration issues.

The classic offline mode is also available for use.
