BZX55 series zener diodes are 0.5W silicon zener diodes. They are also Zener diodes in Western terminology. The voltage stabilization range is from 2.4 V to 75 V. Some manufacturers produce an extended line of zener diodes with a maximum stabilization voltage of 200 V. The peak power dissipation for 8.3 ms is 30 W. Zener diodes are produced in a DO-35 glass case, the mark in the form of a black ring is applied on the cathode side.
Zener diodes of this series are marked according to the European Pro-Electron system. According to it, for example, the BZX55-C5V6 zener diode is a special-purpose silicon zener diode with registration number 55, a stabilization voltage of 5.6 V and a voltage tolerance of + (-) 5%, and a BZX55-B5V6 zener diode has a tolerance of + (-) 2% .
