LM1-940 is an infrared sensor module that combines two nodes - TSOP2136 with a harness and an electronic key for controlling infrared LEDs with the ability to adjust the brightness of the radiation. The range of reliable detection of obstacles in the course of the experiments was achieved up to 30 cm and depends on the precise generation of the emitted signal, the radiation power of the LEDs and the features of the surface of the detected obstacle (color, texture, material). A bright, highly reflective object can also be detected from a farther distance.
The module can be used:
- As a receiver of commands via IR channel using the RC5 protocol;
- As a transmitter of commands via the IR channel;
- As a transceiver for the exchange of information via the infrared channel (both for communication with a PC and with other devices);
- As a budget non-contact obstacle sensor.
