SILICONE 72/200, Silicone grease
see technical documentation
KONTAKT CHEMIE SILICONE 72 is a medium viscosity silicone grease with optimum electrical properties and excellent high temperature resistance. SILICONE 72 is usually supplied in canisters as pure silicone grease. Depending on the conditions of use of the drug, it can be used both in diluted and undiluted form. To obtain the correct viscosity, it should be diluted with a volatile hydrocarbon based solvent (eg white spirit or Cleaner 610). The SILICONE 72 aerosol already contains solvent and carbon dioxide (as propellant).
In industry, SILICONE 72 is used to repair insulator defects in small high voltage transformers, windings and induction coils (eg line transformers in televisions). Silicone grease penetrates the winding very quickly. Compared to other liquids, silicone has an ultra-high dielectric strength. SILICONE 72 can also be used as a lubricant for various plastics. As such, SILICONE 72 does not damage sensitive materials and hardly contaminates surfaces.
It can also be used to improve the glide of materials such as paper, cardboard, wood, etc. Due to its excellent temperature stability, it can be used, for example, as a lubricant for the paper feed mechanism in office equipment. In some cases, silicone can also be used as a lubricant for metals, when a lubricant is required that does not change viscosity over a wide temperature range.
Properties:
Virtually no trace
Large operating temperature range
Excellent dielectric properties.
Application:
Lubrication and insulation of various transformers, coils, coils, chokes, etc.
Lubrication of parts exposed to high temperatures during operation.
Lubricant for plastic and rubber
Lubrication of paper feeding systems and mechanics of office equipment (faxes, copiers, printers)
Lubrication of metal parts where a non-thickening lubricant is required for a wide temperature range
Recommendations:
The easiest way to use KONTAKT CHEMIE SILICONE 72 is to use an aerosol can.
For large scale applications or where the use of a flammable solvent is not acceptable, the drug may be used undiluted.
When using a less flammable hydrocarbon solvent, please note that the drying time may be much longer than with Cleaner 601.
Due to its solvent content, KONTAKT CHEMIE SILICONE 72 has a degrading effect on varnishes, adhesive coatings, etc. and therefore should not be applied to such surfaces. Also, do not cover electrical contacts with silicone. The high insulating properties of silicone, as well as the decomposition products of silicone dioxide, formed during the sparking of contacts, contribute to a significant increase in the electrical resistance of the contacts.
Warnings:
The spray contains a flammable solvent, so the drug should not be applied to equipment in operation. Any potential sources of ignition must be avoided.
