Optical patch cord is a piece of optical cable, terminated on both sides by optical connectors. The cord can have both the same connectors at the ends, and be supplied with different types of connectors.
UPC is the type of connector polishing. Characterizes an almost flat connector. Connectors with this type of polishing are most often blue.
The optical connector is terminated on both sides with connectors of the same type (SC/UPC). The connector housing is made of plastic, rectangular in cross–section. The connection and disconnection of this connector are made linearly (with the help of a latch, the connector is fixed in the socket).
