1. Two-pole probes (indicators) during operation require contact with two parts of the investigated electrical installation, and the presence or absence of voltage is indicated by a light and / or sound indicator. They are used in both AC and DC installations.
2. Single-pole probes work by interacting with an object at a single point. The circuit is closed through the human body. Single-pole devices are suitable for testing AC circuits only.
