Screws are fasteners having the form of a rod with a head and an external thread, which forms an internal thread in the holes of the objects to be joined.

Screws are designed for driving into soft wood or plastic products. For solid products, self-tapping screws are used.

In relatively soft materials, you can not drill a hole for screws at all (or make holes whose diameter should not exceed 50% of the diameter of the screw itself). In hard materials, it is mandatory to pre-make holes for screws for the entire length of the screw (hole diameter - from 50 to 80% of the screw diameter).
