In electrical contact, the corrosion of metals is a complex process, accompanied by their chemical interactions with the environment and with electrochemical phenomena that can occur in the resistance zones of contact between dissimilar metals. In order to protect against such corrosion, in some other cases, electrical contacts that do not have protective coatings must be protected with oils and various lubricants, sprays, petroleum jelly and other special compounds.
