Among the rather wide variety of devices used in security systems, there are a number of devices that are used almost everywhere. One of the most common types of detectors in security alarm systems is magnetic contact detectors.

They are most often used to block the opening of various building structures, such as doors, windows, storefronts, gates, etc. Such detectors are characterized by the highest probability of detection of penetration, equal to 0.99. This, in fact, explains their widespread use.

Magnetic contact detectors consist of a sealed magnetically controlled contact (reed switch) and directly a magnet placed in a plastic or non-magnetic metal housing. The principle of operation of the vast majority of magnetic contact detectors is that when opening movable structures equipped with a detector, the sensor contact opens, and the equipment issues a signal to the attendant's console, to locking devices, etc.

The key point here is precisely the "opening" of the sensor contacts. In this way, it is quite easy to solve the issues of blocking doors, elevators, and closing access to entire industrial and residential areas. But if we are not interested in restricting access, but in signaling, then everything is not so simple here. If you connect such a sensor to an alert device in the form of an LED indicator or a sound emitter, then the picture of what is happening is unlikely to suit anyone. In the absence of an attempt to penetrate, the LED will be constantly lit, and only when the sensor is triggered, it will go out. And if such a sensor is connected to a sound emitter?

A sensor with normally closed contacts DNZ-x produced by the Ryazan Plant of Metal-Ceramic Devices (JSC "RZMKP") will allow solving such a problem. When the blocks are separated (opening a door, window), the sensor closes the contacts. Thus, a signal is issued to turn on the notification device - the indicator lights up, or a sound signal sounds. Even a novice amateur radio operator or electrician can handle the connection of such a sensor.
