Self-locking terminals SMK222
It is almost impossible to imagine electrical work without switching connections of wires. In not so distant times, the main way of such connections was "twisting". The method is quite labor-intensive, and requires certain skills. The connection based on screw clamps has a number of advantages, but it is not without drawbacks. For example, if you "under-tighten" or "over-tighten" the screw, the connection turns out to be less reliable. In the first case, the junction may heat up, and even cause a fire. In the second case, there is a risk of damage to the wire and the terminal itself. The use of construction and installation terminals (QMS) with a self-locking mechanism eliminates such problems.
Self-locking terminals SMK222 manufactured by Kaluga plant KW, depending on the installation method and purpose, can be divided into several groups.
Universal terminals SMK222-41xThe terminals of the SMK222-41x series are, in fact, analogs of the well-known WAGO terminals of the 222-41x series.
The terminals are designed for switching single-core/multi-core copper conductors. There is information on the terminal housing that allows you to visually determine the conductor cross-section and the required stripping length. All wiring connections of the conductors must be protected from moisture, dust, foreign objects and mechanical impact.

Branch terminals SMK222-4xxThe terminals of the SMK222-42x series are designed to connect (separate) several conductors.
The terminals have a mounting pad that allows you to install the terminal on a flat surface, or in a mounting box. Terminals have two or three connection lines. Each line of connected conductors is isolated from the other. At the same time, each line has its own color.

Through-pass terminals SMK222-241xThe SMK222-241x pass-through terminals are designed for longitudinal splicing and at the same time combining (separating) wires.
The terminal has several lines of connected wires. Each line is isolated from the other.
The terminal SMK222-2411, designed for installation on a DIN rail, stands somewhat apart. In fact, it is a complete analog of the SMK-2411 terminal. It differs only in the way of installation. It should be noted that both of these terminals have the same name. In order not to confuse them when ordering, it is necessary to specify either the product code or the mounting method (on a DIN rail).

On the terminal housings there are projections and grooves of the "dovetail" type, which allow the terminals to be combined into blocks. In addition, terminals SMK222-2411 and terminals SMK222-4xx have test sockets for measuring electrical parameters.
