NTC thermistors are semiconductor devices whose electrical resistance changes with temperature.
NTC thermistors work in such a way that as the temperature increases, their resistance, on the contrary, decreases, that is, they have a negative TCR.
Thermistors are made from mixtures of polycrystalline transition metal oxides (oxide of manganese, cobalt, nickel or copper), doped semiconductors (germanium and silicon), which have a high temperature coefficient of resistance, orders of magnitude greater than the TCR of the metal and its alloys.
